“Walk More. Lose Weight”

Before doing any new exercises or even going on a diet, I’d play it safe by asking my Doctor for advice.

Before embarking on a get-fit walking program, I’d also look in the classifieds for a “gently used” stationery exercise bike.

Chances are you have heard most of the following life-saving advice before – and chosen to ignore most of it …

·         Use it or lose it.

·         Smoking can kill you

·         Drug abuse can kill you.

·         You need to cut down on salt

·         You need to cut down on fatty foods.

·         You could do with losing at least 10 lbs

·         Too much red meat is bad for your health

·         You should eat omega-rich salmon twice a week

·         You should eat several servings of fresh fruit every day

·         A fat stomach and a large waist line can shorten your life

·         The Mediterranean Diet is healthier than the American Diet

·         You should eat several servings of fresh vegetables every day

·         Uncontrolled anger and a bad temper can cause a fatal heart attack

·         Too much alcohol can seriously damage your liver and make you fat

·         Most processed and canned food is loaded with undesirable chemicals

·         Walking for 30 minutes a day helps you lose weight and also keep it off

·         Walking and Running is known to Promote Cardiovascular Fitness and

·         Helps you lose weight

·         Strengthens your lungs

·         Strengthens your bones

·         Increases your endurance

·         Improves your sleep habits

·         Reduces your risk of diabetes

·         Reduces your high cholesterol

·         Strengthens your core muscles

·         Improves oxygen consumption

·         Reduces your risk of heart disease

·         Reduces your high blood pressure

·         Clarifies your thinking and clears your mind

·         Helps you realize that your life is what you make of it

·         Helps you realize a positive attitude is something you can easily and instantly adopt

·         Helps you realize you are a mind in charge of a body and not a body in charge of a mind

·         Helps you realize that contemplating failure rather than success acts like a self-fulfilling prophesy in that it helps bring about the very thing you fear the most and really don’t want to happen!

The Reason Why…

For everything there is a reason. We do things and we avoid doing things. Most of the time we never stop to think why. For instance…

There was this housewife who cooked a full ham for her family three or four times a year.  One day as she was preparing to cook the ham the husband saw her cut about an inch off the narrowest part and discard it. “Why are you doing that?” he inquired.

“Because,” she replied, “it’s what my mother always did.”

A few days later when they were at her mother’s house the husband asked her why she cut the end off the ham.

“Don’t know” she said. “It’s what my mother always did.”

A week later he asked his wife’s mother why she always cut the end off the uncooked ham.  After thinking about it for a moment she said:

“My husband did the shopping. Invariably the ham he bought was too big for my pot so I always had to cut a bit off the end to make it fit.”

There is always a reason…

I know a 40 year old unhappily married woman who has a screwed-up and very abusive husband and three young children. 

When she got married she was thin. Now she’s fat.

“I hate fat cows” her toxic husband keeps telling her, “and I hate you.  The very thought of having sex with you is enough to make me want to puke.”

The wife doesn’t like being fat and says she hates her ugly body.

I suspect the reason she keeps trying different diet plans and fails to slim down is because deep down she fears if she was thin the husband she hates might want to have sex with her!

However, in fairness, her doctor now says her excessive weight gain could also be due to a Vitamin D deficiency! 

Psychiatrists know that some people take drugs and drink to excess in a vain attempt to escape the memory of an unhappy childhood and the bad things that may have happened to them in the past.

They may also overeat to compensate for having a poor self-image and because they feel they are so unlovable nobody could ever love them.

People who are engaged in any kind of self-destructive behavior need to think back -- even to when they were quite young -- to try to determine WHO or WHAT might have made them feel inadequate, incompetent, unloved or undeserving of love and happiness.

Yesterday ended last night. The thing about the past is it is the past. Today is a new day, a new dawn, a new start and a new beginning.

You can forgive anyone who may have ever harmed us by Rationalizing.

Maybe they were ignorant or stupid? Maybe they just didn’t know any better? Maybe they thought the things they said were for your own good?

Maybe the best thing you can do is to feel sorry for them; forgive them; move on; realize that the only thing that can stop you being all that you can be -- is your own negative thinking and inadequate self-image.

Your mind can be likened to your personal garden filled with rich soil.

Positive thoughts are the only kinds of seeds you want to plant.

Here’s my tested and scientifically proven remedy for whatever ails you…

First thing every morning and last thing every night, plant the following all powerful, all embracing thought-seed in the garden of your mind…

“Every day, in every way, I get better and better”

In your mind’s eye, visualize or conjure up a picture of yourself, not as you are now, but as you confidently expect you will be.

You have to KNOW and absolutely BELIEVE, without the slightest shadow of a doubt, that success is inevitable and failure is simply not an option.

To change your world for the better you have to stop contemplating and visualizing the things you don’t want.

Here’s why: Our thoughts seem to have within them a magnetic force that can be used to either grow the positive results we want or even the negative results we really don’t want.

When you choose to become a Possibility Thinker and start visualizing success and expecting to succeed more than you expect to fail, this new positive attitude and thinking will automatically over-ride any negative programming you may have been subjected to, and immediately start changing your whole life and your relationships with other people for the better.

The one thing which you have absolute power over is your thinking.

If you look in the mirror and see yourself as fat, lazy, miserable and unhappy, failure, that is what you will undoubtedly become, and be perceived as such, by others!

On the other hand, if, in your imagination you can see yourself walking and exercising more, eating healthier food, you will also be able to see yourself with a flatter belly, a slimmer waist, slimmer thighs, smaller hips, becoming fitter, feeling younger, acting younger and looking younger.

The more details you see in your picture – the faster it will materialize.

The more emotional intensity you can feel – the quicker the results.

                        If you can believe it, you can surely achieve it.

                        If you can visualize it, you can surely materialize it.

                        For best results, repeat this 10-word magical mantra…

                        “Every Day, In Every Way, I Get Better and Better”

Say it calmly and quietly to yourself first thing in the morning and last thing at night without fail for the next 21 consecutive days.

       

 

 

 

Start Each Day By Asking Yourself…

 

`           1. “What’s the Worst Thing that can happen to me today and what

 Three Things can I do to ensure this bad thing doesn’t happen?”
