The Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists Focus on Latest Energy Based Skin Tightening Technologies
During the 18th Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Canada, The Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists (SPSSCS) will focus their emphasis on light and non-invasive, ultrasonic energy based technologies as a way to produce tighter, firmer skin for a growing number of patients interested in these minimally invasive procedures.
Last year, in 2011 more than 7.5 million nonsurgical cosmetic procedures were performed in and $1.7 billion spent on skin rejuvenation treatments, according to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). Currently, over 20% of plastic surgeons offer spa services or work in conjunction with medical spas where less invasive, nonsurgical procedures are performed.
This meeting offers seminars and educational break-out sessions for nurses and aesthetic practitioners, trained technicians and clinicians working in the offices of cosmetic and plastic surgeons and at medical spas and clinics.
The meetings will also feature exhibitors, providers and manufacturers of the latest technologies for medically-supervised skin care, revealing their skin tightening systems.
“Our meeting content supports that clinical role and our expanded professional role set involving organizational functions,” stated SPSSCS President-Elect and Program Chair, Karen Davis.
Comprehensive courses will be taught by some of the country’s leading plastic surgeons who specialize in light and energy based technologies. New information and data will be presented in addition to a panel discussion on complications and controversies in areas including ablative and non-ablative skin improvement, acne (acute post-op and scarring), IPL, skin contour related to fat and vascular correction.
