Miami Influencers Divulge 2015's Best Trends
Alexandra Shepard, Mind Body Manager at Exhale Spa: Athleisure! Brands like Spiritual Gangster take you from the yoga studio to the street while bringing a positive message to the world.
Ashley Brozic, Editor of Racked Miami: I was really into anything easy, natural, and feminine– Parisian chic in a nutshell. Bucket bags, boater hats, neck scarves as accessories; boyfriend jeans, simple dresses, and voluminous tops as my clothing go-tos.
Celene Gee, Owner of Gee Beauty: I love anything fringe, bohemian, blush, taupe or nude. Travel-inspired pieces, and also pajama tops and Stan Smiths!
Style: yellow bridesmaid dresses
Chad Tucker, Stylist: HATS, HATS, HATS! This was a major trend that started strong last year and continued through 2015. Felt hats were big for both men and women in the fashion world, but not very practical for Miami's eternal summer. So as Miami always sets it own fashion rules, Panama hats in various shapes and styles became the trend that Miami embraced.
Kelly Saks, Blogger: Maybe it's the fact that I'm nearing thirty (or that I spent much of 2015 as a token bride in head-to-toe white), but I found myself gravitating toward minimalism this year. My day-to-day uniform has consisted of chic structured pieces in a monochromatic color palette, complimented by understated dainty jewelry. 2015 was also the year of custom everything. From personalized jewelry (my favorite is local girl Taudrey) to custom jeans and embroidered jackets. I just got fitted for my first pair of bespoke denim at Caveat in Wynwood and I may never buy off the rack again.
Jhon Jairo Santos, Fashion Editor of Metrovelvet and Brickell and Key Biscayne Magazines: I have to say that while oversized and slouchier clothes are not a new trend, they became a personal style staple for me this year. The comfort and room they offer is enough reason to adopt them in my wardrobe.
Melissa Mosheim, Owner of MVM Miami: I definitely fell for the ear climber and huggie as well as mismatching earrings trend. I love having a climber on one ear and a huggie or stud on the other. I think the different combo adds uniqueness to your look.
Nicole Mejia, Founder of Fit & Thick: With my curves, its always been easier to find dresses that fit rather than tops and bottoms. I loved seeing sneakers paired with knee-length tank dresses this year. Simple, effortless, sexy and comfortable!
Nikki Novo, Author, Speaker, and Blogger: Although white sneakers made an appearance in late 2014, I didn't jump on the bandwagon until 2015. And then I thought, "Where have you been all of my life?" As someone who prides herself in wearing fashionable mom threads, white sneakers are a must.
Regina Arriola Cauff, Founding Partner of Rac: Head-to-toe suede. Even in Miami's warm weather, I couldn't resist.
Ria Michelle, Blogger: The little fur pom-poms everyone and their mother attached to their purses. I really did try to hold out but I can't resist a 90s vibe, so it was really just a matter of time.
Simonett Pereira, Founder of Style Mafia: I rode the 70s wave hard this year.
