Although Terry Pratchett has created a parallel universe - the place and the island have sprung his imagination - his story seems so true and just, that the book is no longer one after just a few pages let go. Nothing that Pratchett writes, is irrelevant. Nothing, it seems, is random, everything is down to the smallest detail. It makes his narration but by no means the impression that anything constructed on the contrary, it is characterized by intuition of an extremely gifted storyteller.
