The Continuous Surplus of Weight Loss Information

Nov 23rd 2012 at 6:58 PM

Without question, doesn't it feel like there is a frequent flood of information about weight loss no matter what you are doing or where you are? There are hundreds of magazine articles, new TV reality shows, thousands (it seems) of books in the weight loss section at the local bookstore that are talking about weight loss and how to reach it. Our culture's fixation with slim bodies being preferable to fat bodies, and the progressing evidence that being overweight is unhealthy, can cause numerous other ailments, and even shorten one's life span is enough to make you think about your weight. No wonder postings for remedies and solutions for losing weight are on our awareness radar.

Pretty much everybody (and that means a lot of folks) who has tried to lose weight knows that some diet plans are more enjoyable than others for fast pound-loss, some diets are easier to press on with over the long term, and some loss weight programs are way more magnificent than others. When you see statistics that state: "two thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese," it is properly understandable there is a voracious appetite for quick and easy-to-follow solutions that don't cost too much.

The number of diet plans is huge ranging from religious-based diets such Kosher or Islamic, to philosophical beliefs resulting in vegetarian diets or semi-vegetarian diets. There are straightforward weight control plans withlow-calorie, low-fat, low- carbohydrate diets and then there are the special detox diets, fad, celebrity, or crash diets. The important types of weight loss programs range from "balanced" plans with calories that are controlled, but permit all foods, to limited food plans such as High protein/low fat, low fat, glycemic index, or meal replacement diets. Folks who are affected by an intolerance, or allergy to certain types of food as well as for diabetics, there are medically supervised plans. Similarly there are medically supervised food plans for the treatment of coeliac disease requiring a gluten-free diet, for the treatment of refractory epilepsy with a ketogenic diet, as well as liquid diets for patients recovering after bariatric surgery. Other diets that should also be supervised by a medical doctor are those that require very low caloric intact with the use the hormone hCG in the form of injections, sublinqual pills, or drops. These hCG diets are all strongly influenced by the work of a British endocrinologist by the name of Dr. A.T.W. Simeons. In his 1954 influential book, "Pounds and Inches." Dr. Simeons stated that a combination of a small amount of human chorionic gonadotropin with a very low-calorie diet could cause a person's body to metabolize and burn their abnormal fat through a distinct process resulting in not only a lot of  pounds, but also inches being shed. Unfortunately, it was virtually a starvation diet with not enough nutrition for the body to function properly, leading to his followers having to take breaks from the diet in order to stay healthy.

Today, physicians have modified Dr. Simeons' original protocol making it better suited for today's dieters. Although some modern plans still advocate his very low (500 calorie a day) diet, other plans have revised the calorie intake to between 800-1000 calories per day, supplemented with a daily dosage of prescription hCG. These sorts of programs tailer the diet plan based on each person's gender, age, health history,  preferences, and lifestyle. If a person wants to lose only 10 pounds or more than 100 pounds, these medically supervised plans can tailor a specific weight loss program. Unlike most diets, the hCG protocol does not require a strenuous workout component, although the better plans do gently push some type of light to moderate exercise.

If you decide on an hCG diet plan seek out the programs that do more than just offer the hormone and a calorie restricted diet. A handful of modified plans have a knowledgeable support system along with education information to help the dieter to totally rework their lifestyle regarding food. It's one thing to drop the pounds and inches, but it just as important to keep the weight off by preserving a healthier lifestyle.

The regular surplus of weight loss information can be confounding. Discover more about the effective fast weight loss diet process at that will modify your life.
