How to Avoid Overeating and Lose Weight

It is common nowadays that people tend to be overweight or obese because of their lifestyle, especially since they tend to overeat. Overeating regularly will give you a lot of unwanted pounds and this will force you to find ways to lose weight. However, overeating can easily be remedied and given a solution. 

Most of us eat three times a day, and with these three times we eat three heavy and loaded meals that are enough to fill our daily needs. Sometimes, if we are running out of time, we skip a meal which in most cases is breakfast. By doing so we eat twice as much as we would regularly eat, because we think that this covers up for the meal we skipped. But, covering up your skipped meal is not a good idea. You tend to eat more than what your mind is asking to. We presume its ok and it does not add up to your weight, which is not true. 

To help with that, here are some tips on how to avoid overeating.

• One simple tip on how to avoid overeating is to remember that our brain needs about 20 minutes to be able to process what we eat and ate, and to signal to our body that our stomach is full. It also takes a few minutes more than that for the digestive system and other hormones to signal the body to stop eating, and that is because, you are full. 

• Avoid eating when you are depressed or stressed, something that is usually done by most people nowadays in order to cope up with the pressures of daily living. Try to do something else as means of releasing stress, anxiety and depressions. Go outside, breathe in clean, or rather, polluted air. Play basketball, tennis, badminton, or write a story, or perhaps, a poem. Just look for an outlet of your inner emotion and do not vent it out on the food you eat. 

• Drink lots and lots of water. Sometimes, in order to make ourselves feel full and satisfied, we need to use water as a substitute to food. However, don’t just drink in water while eating. Rather, try to drink two glasses of water an hour before eating, and another two glasses after eating.  Aside from that, it also helps in cleansing your body.
