Unlike any other type of Karaoke, in which the songs sound without the original singer's voice, SingStar (except for the first version) plays songs unchanged, remaining original singer's voice. Our voice also sound on TV while we sing, but we can modulate the local voice volume through the buttons L1 (top) and L2 (lower).
The SingStar game modes are the same for all versions from SingStar Party, singing Sing Mile Miliki which has achieved accomplishments. They differ from the modes in the first version of SingStar in that it contains a single-player mode where you have to pass tests to advance in place as Pass the Mic:

Become a Star: Only the first installment of SingStar allows us to scroll through a series of challenges to become a Superstar. Something like American Idol but academia.
Song Single - Mode for one player singing.
Duet - Duet for 2 players, which at the end of the song, add their scores.
Battle - 2-player mode where you compete for the best score. Sometimes also some duet songs, only without adding their scores.
Pass the Micro - Multiplayer mode (up to 8 players) and special teams for parties. Is a group of seven rounds all different. In each, the test to pass will be different and the game will choose which singers from each team must fight to get the points of the round.
