Does Diet Soda Pop Make You Fat?
Diet soda pop is one of the worst diet drinks for your health period. Many people falsely believe they are doing themselves some good when drinking diet soda pops. What is bad about diet soda, you may ask. Diet soda has nothing but harmful cancer causing chemicals that only make you crave more sugars. But for some reason people continue to buy diet soda day after day and think it is better than regular soda pop.
There were plenty of stories and studies about how diet soda actually causes people to gain more weight than folks who drink regular soda pops. The regular drinks are bad enough to drink because most have high fructose corn syrup. The diet soda has all the fake, artificial sugars that actually cause the body to store lots of fat. Also the fake sugars make people crave more sugar and bad refined carbs. People automatically think they can eat what ever they want and will dive into the sugar and carbs. I know you’ve seen people have a diet soda with a big ole piece of chocolate cake. Or you know of a so called health freak that drinks diet soda and have a slice of pepperoni pizza. As a matter of fact, diet soda and pepperoni is a deadly combination. Both the diet soda and pepperoni has chemicals that really don’t mix. The sodium nitrates and artificial sugars are worst when consumed together. It is poison to the body. Anything with chemicals should be avoided, not just for weight loss, but for overall health. Mixing diet soda with veggies doesn’t make the meal healthy either as some people believes it does.
If you are serious about weight loss, it is best to avoid all soda pops, diet ones included. It’s best to have water and lemons or tea with natural sweeteners. Don’t drink anything that has high fructose corn syrup also. You will be healthier and your body will thank you for it.
