Calorie counting for Weight Loss

Feb 1st 2011 at 7:24 AM

If you want to get rid of that ugly belly fat then it is just as important to keep track of the amount of calories you are consuming. Research has shown that in order to lose belly fat safely and burn calories at the same time, then a slow weight loss program should be considered as it was found that by doing this it became much a safer and more reliable way of keeping the weight off for longer.

A simple example is for every pound of fat you have you should burn approximately 3500 more calories than are consumed from food. Another example is to decrease the calorie intake by around 300 per day, and increasing your daily workout in order to burn off extra calories ( aprpoximately 200 per day is fine) would allow you to lose about one pound of body weight per week.

In simpler terms, in order to lose one pound in weight per week you need to burn approximately 500 calories a day or risk the possibility of putting weight back on rather than losing it. So now you know how many calories you need to burn off per week to help lose belly fat on a weekly basis we should now work out how many more calories we need to burn off in order to lose more weight.

Therefore if you want to lose two pounds of fat per week then you need to burn 1000 calories per day, and so on.
