Upcoming Witcher Series: Fears and Hopes

Dec 4th 2019 at 10:37 AM

Fans awaiting the Witcher series are two groups, gamers who have been very excited about the Witcher game series and given the and given that now there is no news of the Witcherr 4  or even Elder Scrolls, they miss the air and wait for the series. And, of course, film lovers looking for a replacement for GoT or even Lord of the Rings who are bored of seeing Mordor fight for the 65th time.
When the Witcher series was announced by Netflix, fans were overwhelmed by the choice of Henry Cavill, who was also a gamer and this choice made them want actors like Jared Leto and Emma Stone and Eva Green and Dakota Fanning to be cast for the roles of Dandelion and Triss, Yennefer and Ciri. Although the expectation was too high, but they didn't want them to be that much unknown.
When the first trailer of the series was released, ordinary audiences might have liked it, but fans of the Witcher games were disappointed by the lack of attention to detail in the trailer, such as that Geralt had only one sword or the talisman. (A medallion that Geralt cradles and uses to identify monsters) was badly designed or there was no report of a wound on Geralts's face or Ciri, for example, and a few other such problems. These may not be very important now, but they may indicate a lack of attention to detail when making the series.
The second trailer was more promising than the first one, at least with Geralt uses some signs and does some monster slaying which shows that this is not just a copy of Game of Thrones, but experience has shown that trailers usually show the film far better than it is. A good trailer doesn't necessarily lead to a good movie.
Another thing is that Henry Cavill has previously played Superman, but Geralt is by no means a superhero like Superman or other unrealistic Marvel or DC characters. Geralt has a gray personality, but usually at the last minute, does the right thing, something like Clint Eastwood's character in the good, the ugly, and the ugly and the other western films he plays. Now, I hope the writers don't write Geralt's character like Superman or even Aragorn and have his character loyal to Andrjez Sapkowski's books as well as CD Projekt Red games.
In any case, we have to wait until the show is launched, hoping to be a good series which keeps us happy and doesn't ruin our good memories.
