As a form of transportation, biking has helped in alleviating traffic congestion. In the United States, towns like Memphis and Austin, Texas have created bike lanes in an effort to alleviate traffic congestion and encourage more workers to use bicycles in going to and from their workplaces.  It should be noted that these urban centers were used to be called among the worst towns for bikers.

Even bigger cities like Los Angeles and New York have more bike lanes now than in previous years. Los Angeles, for example, has nearly 500 miles of on-street bike lanes while New York has nearly 350.

The same is true for other parts of the world, particularly in London where a bike-loan scheme has enabled citizens to pick up a bike and use it for free in 30 minutes.  Other cities in Europe like Berlin, Paris, Copenhagen, and Rome have also stepped up initiatives to encourage people to give up the use of their cars and bike instead.

And with gas prices consistently on the rise, you can get a lot of savings if you bike your way to work instead of taking your car.

Cyclists often bike in groups.  Biking not only can make you fit and saveyou money, but it can also help you win new friends.  You can join a biking group in your workplace or organize one.  Biker-friends not only join each other on the roads but also share information on where to get bikes like Devinci Spartan and Wolf tooth bikes, or procure parts like industry nine wheels.
