A Bronx, NY teen Kalief Browder was thrown in Rikers Island prison for over 3 years for a robbery crime that he didn’t commit. He was in 10th grade walking home from a party when someone accused him of robbery. His family couldn’t post $10,000 bail, after years the judge tried to give him a plea deal if he would admit to the robbery. Facing 15 years, he denied his involvement and in June 2013 he was released without any explanation.
