So, you want to start blogging?

So, you want to start blogging, but don't know how best to start? That's all right. Even internet marketers need to start somewhere.

I'm a great believer in keeping things simple to begin with, so I recommend you start off with a Google Blog - Blogger Blog, Blogspot - they're all the same. It will give you a good insight into what it's all about.

You need to have a googlemail (gmail) account and from there you can set up your blog - go to settings/google account settings and scroll down to Blogger.

As long as you have something to say, you can do it all in about 5 minutes. Layout, monetising it, adding banners and extras - leave those 'til later. Just get yourself started.

I use my blogspots as feeders to my main WordPress blogs which I host myself. Other folk have written about those and there's a mass of info out there to help you, as well as membership sites and forums. Get going with Blogger first, that it, unless you have plenty of time and nous to dive in at the deep end.

Ideally you should try to post every couple of days to your blog, and using your google account this can be really easy if you set up your home page as igoogle and add the Blogger widget to it.

Blogger blogs are also shown at random and I think they are indexed a bit faster by Google.

Have fun with your blogging.
