Rachel Koller's voice dances on the line between indie rock and cool pop. There's really no one quite like her--this girl is turquoise and rubies in a five and dime store.
Rachel Koller's debut CD "Step Outside" receives outstanding reviews.
Having a hearing problem when Rachel was a youngster did not interfere with her accomplishing her goal as a musician. Not only did it not interfere with her ability to become a songwriter and singer, it enhanced her abilities. As she grew older, she took piano lessons, which she loved alongside her older sister. She was serious and studious and composed her first piano composition in 3rd grade. Writing music delighted her. The ability to transform emotion into music was magical. She began to sharpen her skills as a singer songwriter. She developed techniques and sounds that highlighted her unique writing style. She writes mostly pop/alternative rock and has that innate ingrown ability to change it up at anytime. Versatility and creativity is a recipe for success.
Her latest release "Step Outside" is a great example of her versatility, her creativity and her vulnerability. This CD was released on August 3, 2011 to rave reviews. Single "Almost Stranger" portrays a unique R & B vocal sound in perfect harmony with an electro/rock style song. This single is about a chance meet with an ex-boyfriend and realizing that they no longer knew anything about each other. Although they still share a friendship, their lives will never return to the way they were. Even still, through the lyrics, Rachel expresses she is grateful for everything she learned from the sexperience and how she grew because of it.
The compilation of songs in this incredible CD "Step Outside" varies from upbeat pop tunes to ballads. Audiences from all over the world love her style. She writes of experience, reality, hope and love. Her use of time and chord change ups in her songs makes her music stand out from others in her field. It makes her music unique, relatable and memorable in this industry.
Rachel Koller is excited about appearing in a few upcoming magazines. She has opened for Joshua James, The Whits (featuring Amy Whitcomb from the Sing Off show) and a few other local artists.
"I feel grateful and very blessed. God gave me a love for music and a talent in it and I want to do all within my power to help others with it. Music has been a great source of joy, inspiration and comfort for me and I hope to use it to provide the same feelings for anyone who hears it."
In the midst of all this, Rachel has married. What an incredibly happy time for Rachel.
