Let Me Introduce Myself- Who Is Darlene Perrone?

I am a publisher of two travel magazines - Destinations Travel Magazine and Travel Virginia Magazine. Both are online magazines devoted to travel . Destinations Travel Magazine focuses on domestic and international travel; Travel Virginia Magazine focuses on travel in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region.

I was first inspired to create a travel magazine after moving to Virginia and falling madly in love with the state. I wanted to share my love of this incredible place with others. Because of my background in travel, photography and computer graphics, it just seemed natural. 

Destinations Travel Magazine fulfilled the need to also focus on other areas as well.  Through both magazines, I market and promote travel, tourism and those who offer travel-related products and services.

What amazes me daily are the reactions I get when people actually go online and read the magazines. They are shocked; the responses are emphatic. I hear words like "amazing", "stunning", "beautiful", 'incredible". I'm not sure what people expect when they hear about the magazines, but I do know they are shocked and pleasantly surprised when they take the time to actually go look at them.

I love what I do and I enjoy the wonderful people I meet everyday because of the travel and tourism industries.

My other interests are, of course- photography. I worked as a professional photographer for a while. Anyone who travels with me knows the camera is almost always in my hands!

Through my travels, I also developed a love for kayaking. I have recently fallen in love with touring on a Segway!

I also enjoy wine, visiting wineries, participating in wine tastings and wine travel. Other travel interests include culinary, photo, luxury and cruises ( including boat charters).

I love animals and wildlife ( used to work in a wildlife park with a variety of exotic species including lions, tigers, leopards, exotic mammals, birds & reptiles). I absolutely love dogs! I especially love Samoyeds - so if you are a Samoyed parent, reach out to me!

I am a "people-person", enjoy social networking and making new friends.
