How To Take Care Of Wholesale Bed Sheets

Jun 26th 2015 at 6:04 AM

Yet beyond many instructions, you may feel the sense for purchasing, cleaning and caring for layers, pillow cases and other bed linens. Did you know that you can remove some wrinkles from the pieces by just throwing a damp cloth in the dryer?

• Wash the linens in cool or lukewarm water

• Set wash cycle on ‘gentle’ if the pieces aren’t really dirty

• Use the extra rinse cycle to remove any detergent residue

• Use less detergent than usual of which about half the amount recommended by the label

• Avoid using bleach as it breaks down fabric fibers.

• Leave the sheets in the dryer

• Avoid over drying that may cause over wrinkles

• Gently remove and fold immediately to remove excess wrinkles

• Toss in a dampened cloth and dry for 5-10 minutes longer.

• Iron the top section of your flat layers, turning them over the top of the blanket

Pillow cases:

• Buy a few extra pillow cases that you particularly love.

• Look for fresh, crisp looks on your bed

• Change the cases after every twice a week in normal climates or in hot and humid regions.

• It would be advantageous to have three sets of pieces per bed, one on the bed, the other in storage and third one in the laundry.

• Rotate the sheets to frequently wear evenly

• Change layers once a week in normal climates, hot and humid regions

General tips for bed linen care:

• Use a mattress pad between the bottom sheet and the mattress.

• Wash the pad after every few months in its extensive pattern, coordinating and less expensive solid

• The sheets when used for fabric allows for shams, pillow covers, bed skirts, tablecloths or curtain panels avoiding the loose body and become limp. Dry clean if necessary.

Other guidelines:

• Wash pieces separately from other clothing. This prevents the damage caused by zippers and other fasteners that reduces the amount of time that happens over time.

• Always pretreat stains before laundering layers. Use a mild detergent for cotton and cotton-polyester-blend sheets.

• This may damage the layers coming into the contact with the agitator.

• Use a gentle wash cycle and cool or lukewarm water

• Dryer sheets to minimize damage from high temperatures.

Give special fabrics the right care:

• Silk: strong needs laundering, doesn’t wring silk sheets. Blot them with a towel instead. Hang the pieces on the outside line out of direction or above air puff on the dryer.

• Linen: durable natural fiber. The more frequently the linen sheets are washed, the softer they will become. Linen will dry more quickly and can be ironed at the hot linen setting on your iron.

• Bamboo: natural fiber benefited by using a mild laundry soap specially designed for natural products. The pieces can be prepared to put in a dryer on a low or air dry setting.
