A good quality sleep makes your physical and mental health better. However, these days’ people are struggling to sleep peacefully at night. There might be many reasons for this like, work pressure, anxiety or restlessness. Below are a few tips that can help you to get better sleep at night.

Maintain a schedule: Follow a bedtime schedule for better sleep. For example, if you are sleeping at 9 pm stick to it and follow the same bedtime. It would be better if you follow the schedule for wake up time. Your body clock will get habituated and you will fall asleep automatically at the same time and can stay asleep for the whole night.

Avoid Small Naps: Afternoon naps might be one of the reasons for having a hard time sleeping at night. If you are feeling asleep during the afternoon take a power nap for 10 to 20 minutes but make sure you are not sleeping for long. By the end of the day, your body will tend to feel asleep.

Exercise Daily: Exercise is one of the best options that make you fall asleep. Do a light exercise at any time of a day that makes your muscles active and keep you energized. It will help you relax at night and people attend to sleep soon.

Makeover your bedroom: The atmosphere in which you are sleeping is also very important to get good sleep. Design your bedroom according to your tastes and create a comfortable environment for yourself. Make sure your bedroom is free from all the gadgets or electronics that make any kind of noise and disturb your sleep. Make sure your bedroom is free of lights.

Choose the right Mattress and Pillow: Make sure your mattress is comfortable and supportive. Use a good quality mattress and pillow for quality sleep. A bad pillow can mess up your sleep and neck at night. Apart from setting a relaxing environment, use a good quality bed, mattress, and pillows that can make you fall asleep easily. Remove unnecessary things around your bed; make the room spacious and inviting.

Avoid Lights: Lights keep you awake at night. Use bright light in the evening and expose yourself to sunlight in the morning.

Avoid heavy meals in the evening: Eating heavy or spicy meals right before sleep can cause major discomfort and it makes you hard to sleep. Avoid eating large meals at least two hours prior to bed. Take a light snack if you feel hungry before bedtime or in the middle of the night.

Consult Doctor: If you still are having a hard time sleeping at nights consult a doctor. Don’t hesitate to discuss your sleeping problems with your doctor. Follow the instructions from the doctor and avoid alcohol and smoking during this sleepless time.
