How to Close 2015- A Guide to Insurance Agents
The moment we start getting closer to the finish line of the year, we start analysing the work we did the whole year. We review our goals and resolutions made for the year and keep pushing them to the next year, promising ourselves to fulfil all them without letting anything come in between them. Its an age old ritual which we follow without fail and now it has become part of our DNA. The big challenge is ending the year with the same drive and resolve with which we started it. Here are seven actions that we feel might help in achieving what was mean't to achieve:
The Defensive Plug-in: Let us tell you how you can pull the defensive plug-in. Many insurance agents are convinced with the fact that consumers want personal attention and prefer local. For example people looking for a business insurance in California chooses a local who can understand their needs and the independent agent gives them. While the whole situation is understandable, it's the defense that helps in getting the innovative ideas to cope up with the loss of their bread-and-butter auto insurance business to online sales. The trend is getting viral and increasing not only to homeowners but also to the small business insurance in San Diego and Commercial Insurance in California. The truth is, if we want to be flexible to new ideas then using is defensive plug is one of the points to start with.
The Knee-Jerk Negativism: It is said the only thing that is constant is the "Change". Be it our lifestyle or the technology. New technologies come up and we start depending upon them and adapt to it. E.g. A decade ago nobody exactly knew that people would be waking up and going to bed with their smartphones. Some innovations hits the bulls eye some fail to hit the target, but it's not because of knee-jerk negativism.
Make no Excuses: Whenever we fail to achieve our goals or we fail to maintain the steady growth rate we blame it on the change in market or the change in the consumer behaviour. But the truth is excuses make us feel better for sometime but it can stop us from seeking the new opportunities or trying to find the right solution to cope up with the problem.
Question mark on Customer Assumptions: Companies nowadays brag a lot about knowing their customers needs very well and what they want. They even won't leave any stone unturned in presenting the evidences on how good they are in understanding their customers. But trust me these evidences are unreliable at best. It's much easier to say, "We know what our customers want."
A dip into the digital pool: Many people are still not clear with the idea and need of having an insurance. They think of it as less exciting job and won't mind giving it a pass. The reason is people think of it as a never ending process. Nowadays the insurance companies follow a simplified way of delivering the policies in two hours. Even though premiums may be higher, the convenience may be worth it.
Let the innovation speak: Innovation not only can speak for you but can also convince customers to pay for it willingly. The opportunities are everywhere, the only thing you need is a mind which can innovate new things or ideas.
Connect the dots: The only way to make customers stick to you is tying everything together for customers. You need to make everything available for them as a one stop shop. Tying everything together in a flow is what customers want.
Every year should be new with a different resolution and goals that can be met and fulfilled within the same year. It takes the right strategy to make sure the end is even better than the beginning.
