GOD FORBID!

Some of us have heard of people who died and who had different accounts on the Internet including friends, fans internet buddies and profession contacts. Have you considered the seriousness of this situation and are you prepared for this transition?

Each internet provider has different rules. Find out what these rules are!

A LIST OF IMPORTANT FACTS YOU DON'T WANT TO CARRY TO THE GRAVE.

Email account,  Online address book, Financial information, Calendars, Usernames, Passwords, Blogging for money, File folders, Electronic media, like music in iTunes videos and photos, Access to banking information, PayPal, AlertPay, Liberty Reserve, Stock Accounts, Windows Live mail account

Google, Yahoo, America Online, Microsoft, even Facebook, Twitter and MySpace all have different rules. Please Check and read the rules.

I think Yahoo does not give out the information due to privacy laws.

Is an electronic Will valid? As far as I know a Will must be printed out, signed and witnessed to be valid. You can't leave it in a word document on your computer.

Find out what "The so-called 'Tort of Privacy' is.

Try saving your personal stuff with a USB Flash drive .

Remember to keep a hard copy address book.

Speak to an estate planning attorney about putting all your online passwords in an estate planning document.

Marc Rotenberg, is the executive director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center.

The 50 years and up are increasingly coming on board the Internet Train and this could prove to be a challenging issue.

A very timely article Carol. I have had 3 online friends pass in the last two years and it made me think about what would those around me do should something happen to me.
