Born on the 25th of May 1953 in Alphen aan den Rijn (The Netherlands). Erick received his first guitar lesson at the age of 8. He learned a few chords and he soon sang several songs, accompanying himself on guitar. At 12 he performed for the first time at the Open Stage Night of the Christian Lyceum in Alphen aan den Rijn. After this many performances followed, among others the teachers’ cabaret.

On the age of 16 Erick joined the navy and played a.o. in the navy band Hr.Ms. Amsterdam. After his time in the navy the guitar was put on the shelf untill 1986. Together with his brother Luc and a few others, he formed the band “Just a Tryout”. This band performed on a regular basis in the regions of Alphen. During this period Erick wrote his first songs, a.o. “Song for my girl”, which has been released in a re-edited version on the album “Yes You Can”. The single “Life is Easy”, which has been released in February 2009, was written in 1988.

The album “Yes You Can” consists of songs written in the period from 1986 untill 2009. The most recent written tracks are “Yes You Can”, inspired by Barack Obama’s presidential campaign slogan “Yes We Can”. “Keep on Dreamin’” came to be after a comment from a good friend on one of Erick’s fantasies (‘yeah, keep on dreamin’ Erick’). “Inspired by Amy” is inspired by Amy McDonald’s “This is the Life”. “Bored 2 Death” is a sad song about the end of a relationship.

People spend a large part of their life waiting, but at the end of your life there is no time left to wait. “Rock & Roll to pass the time” is inspired by this. “Hey will you play” is a song about aging and its appropriate toys. “Viva el Calor” was written in Spain and describes how you would never want to leave the country of sun and sea. The last track titled “The moment I see you” was written by Eric in the spring of 2009 when he was dealing with severe life-threating health problems. Older songs written by Erick are: “Office Blues” (about the dreadful road to work that some people might experience), “Miss You” (about that one love that just wasn’t possible) and of course “Life is Easy” (in which the motto is: if you laugh, life is easier on you).

Erick performes on a regular basis, mainly in Spain and in The Netherlands.
