Does Your Office Need a Bigger Bathroom?

Dec 30th 2015 at 3:33 AM

The health and happiness of your employees greatly impacts worker retention and productivity, and creating a comfortable work environment can greatly impact these efforts. The state of the restroom in your office is a central factor in worker satisfaction. However, it is widely known that most individuals are dissatisfied with their current office bathroom. One of the largest issues is the size of facilities available. As an employer, you want to make sure that your bathrooms can adequately and satisfactorily serve everyone in the office. Here are a few signs that you might need a larger office restroom.

First, if you find that employees are frequently waiting or lining up for the restroom, it is likely that it is time to expand. You absolutely do not want your employees to writhe in discomfort because all the facilities are occupied. You also may be losing substantial time as employees waste time waiting in line for their turn. Clearly, it is time to improve the office with a few extra stalls.

Secondly, you likely need to expand, if your bathroom needs to be cleaned well before the janitorial staff is scheduled to do so. Tight facilities can quickly lead to a larger amount of trash and waste overflow. Paper towels may begin to pile up over the trash bin, and stray toilet paper clutters the floor. Bathrooms become dirty more quickly when too many people are using them, and this can further impede on the happiness of your employees. Installing a few extra stalls can greatly reduce this grim and dirt.

Thirdly, some individuals may find it uncomfortable to utilize a unisex bathroom. While this may seem like a smart idea to cut back on space and funds, it may leave many uncomfortable with the situation and, therefore, uncomfortable at work. You can easily improve employee happiness by expanding the resources and adding additional facilities.

Lastly, you may notice that bathrooms more frequently need to be shut down or marked out of order due to plumbing issues. Public restrooms can easily become clogged, causing major annoyance. If you only have one or two stalls one clogged toilet can lead to an entirely malfunctioning restroom. However, if you have additional stalls, individuals can still use the restroom even if one toilet is temporarily out of order.

As an employer, it may be easy to ignore your business’s restroom, but this can have a significant effect on your workers. As such, you want to make sure that you have ample facilities to improve your office environment. For more information on bathroom partitions in San Diego, click here.
