Therefore, agencies now confer special focus to ICU doctor recruitment with special training in hand.

Intensive care medicine, of course, is closely related to other specialities of medicine or anaesthesia and emergency. Those who want to make a career in ICU must start from the core components of any of these specialties before stepping in ICU as a doctor. One should begin with the speciality training (ST), and application for ST is accepted for everyone, who has completed core medical training or core anaesthetic training. However, the applicant should have also passed corresponding postgraduate examination from a certified institution. There are many medical recruitment agencies now offering recruitment services as per the new system for a bright career in intensive care medicine.

As already discussed, three years of training is must, where the first two years of speciality training allow aspirants to get the needed exposure to the key aspects of intensive care practices. First two years are taken as the stage one, when trainees spend time in anaesthesia, medicine and intensive care trainings.

In the second stage of the programme, trainees get exposure to subspecialties. Three months have to be spent in neurological, paediatric, and cardiac sections of ICU. The remaining months have to be spent on the trainees’ needs, or areas which need improvement.

During the training, aspirants are also allowed to select an area of special interest for additional training, which may by anything of trainee’s choice like advanced paediatric, echocardiography or cardiac care in ICU. It may also include non-clinical practices like teaching, research or management.

During the stage 3 of the training, knowledge and skills are consolidated and focus is given on the development of the leadership skills. The trainee is also prepared for consultancy. After the serious training sessions, medical professional are eligible to work as an ICU doctor and seek recruitment in the field for unstopped growth. Some of the doctors also wish to have dual accreditation along with one acute specialty. This dual accreditation brings more opportunity as doctors definitely have better skills and knowledge than others.

So, focus on your training and then look forward for ICU doctor recruitment to experience immense growth in the industry with excellent remunerations and other benefits.
