A few improvements to earning facepoints and your popularity
One thing is for certain ... the IM faceplate team is dedicated to making this community the best it can be. To that effect, we are always looking at ways to improve the various components of IM faceplate, and so we annouce a few adjustments that were recently made to your earning of facepoints and your popularity score.
EARNING FACEPOINTS
As you know, you earn facepoints for doing a variety of things in IM faceplate. Everything from logging in, to posting a comment on someone's article, to viewing somebody's faceplate, etc., will result in you earning facepoints. You can also earn when other people view your faceplate or "like" something you wrote, and so on.
So, what was the improvement? Well, we have increased the facepoints you can earn for a few of these actions to better bring them in line with the rest.
You can view the new amounts by visiting our original HELP article on earning facepoints, which we have now updated.
View it here > http://www.imfaceplate.com/help/how-do-i-earn-facepoints
YOUR POPULARITY
We have found recently that some members are a bit confused as to what their popularity really stands for. What exactly does this popularity score mean? And how is it calculated?
Well, the fact that there is some confusion means that maybe we didn't do a very good job explaining it, so we have updated the HELP article that explains your popularity and how it is calculated.
Before you head off and check that out, we would like to mention that we have also made some adjustments to how your popularity is calculated. In particular, we have added some additional components to the calculation which make your popularity even more accurate than it was before.
We would also like to clarify something as well. One of the biggest areas of confusion seemed to be surrounding the notion that your popularity is some sort of activity meter. This then resulted in some members wondering why their popularity score went down a couple points while they were still actively participating on the site.
So, just to clear this up, your popularity is not just an activity meter. In fact, your popularity score represents your position within the community based on how popular you (and your faceplate) are. In this respect, your score represents your position compared to everyone else at that exact moment. And so if there are lots of other members gaining in popularity a little faster than you, you might see your score slip a little. But no big deal, just work to get it back :)
You can read the newly updated article here (and we really encourage you to read it):

Thanks for taking the time to read through this update. Have a great day!

I'm here every day doing that and that, I rarely look to my points, of course is important to know how many points are accummulated in Face and how much popularity, but these are coming in time. Anyway I like MY Face more than any other Social Media!
