A fantasy round of golf

Aug 23rd 2010 at 6:43 PM

All of us golfers at one time or another think of what it would be like to play golf with one our favorite golfers. I like so many different golfers I would have a hard time choosing which one to play a round of golf with. I have watched most golfers swings on film archives, Bobby Jones would be my first choice because he has the most natural swing I've ever seen. In his golf lessons on the old film clips, he hardly puts any effort into his swing, yet the ball takes off like a bullet, straight and true. He was also a very talented and interesting person, I would have had quite a few questions to ask him. I'd like to have played golf with him on his home course, but only in another lifetime could this have been possible, too bad.

Jack Nicklaus would be my second choice because I have admired and watched him play golf for quite a few years, I've seen him win many majors on television over those years. I have read all his golf instuction books, which are easy to read and understand, the information helped me with my game and my attitude towards golf in general. He points out the expectations of what you would like to get from playing golf, do you want to become a pro or stay as an amateur and just enjoy the game. It would be great to play a round with him and get to watch his swing up close, you can learn from watching someone who is so good technically. He is definitely a good role model for all amateurs and professional golfers alike. He has many majors to his name and we will see if that record stands or gets broken in the future. I think his final major was his finest win ever.

Another choice and the final one is Tiger Woods, it would be awesome to golf with him. I have heard that it is something to see him hit one of those booming long drives down the fairway. I have followed his career, watched him since he won all those U.S. amateur events a few years back. He then came onto the P.G.A tour and shortly won after two or three events. He has been amazing to watch, especially when he gets in his zone and starts to get the gallery going with him. They seem to feed off each other, building momentum until he does something amazing like pitches the ball into the hole from a horrible lie behind the green.Tiger is pure talent and entertainment at it's best most of the time. Even the pros go through down periods but they always rally their thoughts and turn them around to start getting positive energy flowing in their game again. I would play golf with Tiger anywhere he wanted, I would get there no matter how far or near. That would be my greatest golf memory, to say that I played golf with the greatest golfer ever.
