7 Amazing Soccer Snacks That Will Boost Your Kid’s Energy

Consider the needs of your kid when he is playing soccer out there in the field. You just can’t limit yourself with the usual kids snacks ideas that you can get from the supermarket shelves. They are filled with huge amounts of fats, sugar and all those unhealthy food additives.

It is better to consider a soccer snack as a mini-meal that will help supply the vital nutrients and energy boosters  that your child need to while he is playing soccer.

Here are some of the healthy snacks for soccer that you can start giving your kid.

1.    Banana muffins
If you can’t help it, get commercially made muffins, add extra bananas and use applesauce rather than oil. Most kids love muffins especially when they are crispy on the outside and tender and moist inside.

If you are preparing the snacks for the whole team, it is always good to check with parents and the coach first regarding any potential food allergies of the other kids. Knowing these things ahead of time will help you avoid unwanted ingredients, and easily substitute other food items that are non-allergenic.

2.    Bagel covered with peanut butter
This is a real energy booster for your already tired kid. Just cut half a bagel into four’s and generously fill each with peanut butter or strawberry cream cheese.

3.    Fruit Kabob
This is very easy to prepare and is a favorite among mothers with sports kids. Simply put some pineapple chunks, cheese and grapes on skewers. It will be difficult for you to prevent your kid from consuming all the kabobs you prepared. Just be sure that he does not overindulge himself.

4.    Fruit Salad
This is a mixture of fresh and crunchy bite-sized apples, pears, oranges or peaches. Just toss the fruits with just the exact amount of wildflower honey and look at how the kids devour them.

5.    Home-made Trail Mix
Create your own trail mix consisting of sweet and savory pieces of dark chocolate, almonds or covered raisins. Mix and pack all these natural ingredients and your kid will need no encouragement. He will readily eat them and his energy will be restored.

6.    Frozen Yogurt Tubes
This healthy snack will boost the energy of your kid for the second half of the game. Just keep them in a cold cooler and get them ready as soon as the buzzer of the first half goes off.

7.    Low Fat Cheese Sticks
This is one of the healthy yummy snacks that are easy to prepare and yet it can replenish your kid’s energy during the game. Just cut a bar of cheese into long strips or wrap several cheese squares individually. They are fun to eat, and are very healthy too.
