3 Signs That Prove You Might Have the Flu

Nov 30th 2015 at 11:26 PM

Not sure whether or not you have the flu? Although it may not be possible for you to diagnose yourself because the symptoms are often a bit similar to the common cold, there are a few signs that will often prove you are, in fact, suffering from influenza instead. If you have three of the most common signs, it may be a good idea for you to seek medical treatment at the urgent care center to get help with your illness.

One of the most common signs of the flu is a fever. Having a light fever is not as bad as some people think. In fact, it is your body’s way of attempting to fight back at the infection that is currently trying to take over your body. However, the fever could start to get worse throughout the day. If it becomes unbearable or is simply too high, you might have the flu. In that case, it would be best to receive medical treatment for relief from any of the discomfort.

Is your body starting to hurt? You may begin feeling physically weak without much of an explanation as to why you are feeling that way. Those who come down with the flu often begin to have muscle aches and pains. Along with those minor aches, they tend to feel more tired than usual. If you are feeling weak, uncomfortable and tired, there is a chance that you are coming down with the flu.

Congestion is yet another common sign that people often experience when they are combating the flu. Your nose may feel stuffy and it might even be hard for you to breathe out of your nose. There are people who are often a bit congested, but their nose starts running a bit too. If you are congested or constantly using tissues to blow your nose because it will not stop running, you may be coming down with the flu. There is an even greater chance that you have the flu if you are experiencing each of these different symptoms at the same time.

If you are concerned about the way you are feeling, make sure to seek medical attention. There are different strains of the flu, so it is important to find out what you are suffering from and then get the right treatment for it.
