Are we connected? Are we friends? Betty White is my friend! Just say YES

Social Media sites are here to stay! If you embrace the internet or technology or not, it's the way of the future.

The way we communicate with others has changed in the last few years where everyone from teeny-boppers to grandparents are now on FaceBook and even send out "Twitters" to their followers!

Did you happen to see Golden Girl's Betty White on Saturday Night Live?

Did you know that she ended up on SNL because of a Fan Page started on Facebook?

She didn't even know what FACEBOOK was, but the power behind social networking got her there (make sure to watch the clip of her on SNL at the bottom of this post--it's hilarious)!

Anyway! Love it or hate it...it's the way to communicate information quickly and to a broader audience.

News agencies, church ministries, authors, musicians, politicians are now tweeting!

I have heard many celebrities say recently that they NEVER wanted to be on Twitter or Facebook, but have recently gave in too!

In regards to a home business, the best way to ever share what we do has always been by "word of mouth" marketing. Social Media now allows us to do the same thing but expand our territory-- "World of Mouth" marketing has arrived!

Now with that said, make sure that you are not just out there like everyone else and "spamming" your connections with lots of links, videos and information that they haven't asked for.

Most people are on these sites to "socialize" -- hence the word "social networking."

But if you focus on building relationships and not bombarding them with what you are selling.... then if they have a need that you can solve, they will find you!

Many people spam and bombard people with links and information out of FEAR! Fear of loss, fear of competition...

Don't do it!

I believe that others are right now seeking for what you can offer them of value and they will find you all in perfect time!

I hope that we have connected as I seriously love learning about others and what they are passionate about and I learn so much from so many of my peers everyday.

Many times, the exact thing I need to hear happens to be one of my friends' status updates or Tweets!

Do the same...be an encouragement to others today!
