Splash Pages

May 21st 2011 at 8:45 AM

Hello & welcome to my first ever article on faceplate.

I have been on the internet for a while now - have a few of my own websites & i am also a memeber of a few TE's & that is what brings me to write a short article about splash pages. As normal when you join a TE or have your own website - you add it to another TE & see how its goes & if anyone joines up ect, But after doing this for a while, i wasn't really getting anywhere. So after asking around for advice  - the same thing was coming back to me, brand yourself & your splash pages, after all this is the first thing people are going to see. If you like a splash page - your 90% more likely to click on it.

Now TE's give out the same splash pages to every member & 99% dont give you the chance to change it around, like colour, pics, writing. So Since i now basic HTML, I seen it as a very good way to make splash pages or simple change around a splash page you are giving. Also it is very easy to make a splash page for free - just simple make a big banner (550x400) you can do this with most free banner making sites & its a really cool way to just paly around with colours & pics & get used to making splash pages.

Once you have done that, simple add the HTML code on to notepad - a really great & easy way to learn HTML is with w3school - that is where i go to when i want to make a new splash page or add pics ect to a splash page i have alreay made, its easy & fun & anyone can do it. Also use youtube - there is some really good vid's about making splash pages for free. When making a splash page - also (if you can) add your pic on there - The splash page isn't just about the TE/website/blog/program you are sending traffic to - it is also about you - people may see your pic & think ive seen them on other really good looking splash pages & have also spoken to them on a TE before,  so they might join or siplme as you for more infromation - but if you didnt have that pic up - they would simple just click next - so a pic is important. If you want to make your own splash page - try & simple have as much fun as you can with it, mess about with pics / colour / words ect till you think , you have got something you like, then try it out in a TE you use daily & ask for feed back,  sweeva is a great place to start with this.

Well that is the end on this article (thanks for reading & sorry if its abit all over the palce).

Have fun & i'll post better articles :-)
