  • Jesus Christ the Strongest Man that Ever Lived
    There is a serious misconception in the minds of so called men about the virility of Jesus Christ. Some guys think that to have bulging muscles is all there is to being strong. Others, bullies, think that you have to be in a fist fight. Then there are those who think that the more women you get into your bedroom makes you strong. Since none of these "strengths" apply to Jesus then he must have been a wimp. Let's delve deeper into these three categories and see if Jesus was strong or a weakling.
     I know personally of a very big and muscular guy that if you were to hold a milk snake in front of him he would run like a scared kitty cat. It has been my experience that those guys with big muscles tend to be immature and totally into themselves. They are all about trying to show off their physiques. Personally, I have a notion that these type of individuals are lacking from what it takes to be a real man. I don't know about you, but when I see a guy showing off his big muscles I can't help but ask: "what is so strong about displaying to others your body"? I am much more impressed with some guy or girl that is giving 100% of their time working hard to help alleviate the suffering in the world as they give up their very lives in service to the king..the strongest man that ever lived..Jesus Christ. This to me is true strength. Come to think of it I never once saw a picture of a "He Man" missionary. Why is that?
    Then you have the individual that thinks that if he can knock someone out cold that he must be stronger than others who have never been in a fight. Let me ask you a question. In your heart who is the stronger, the man who rightfully could respond with punching someone in the face for lying to the boss resulting in  getting him  fired but chose to forgive OR the man that beat the pulp out of him? Imagine being at a party and some "strong" man started picking a fight with you in front of your girlfriend and you didn't do a thing wrong. He just wanted to show off in front of her and started to call you names to get a reaction out of you. Frustrated, he punched you and you chose to turn the other cheek....your girlfriend wanted a real man and since you didn't fight she ditched you. Not only did you turn the other cheek but you forgave her too never holding a grudge and always being polite to her. Is this an indicator of being a wuss or man of strength? 
    Then there is the matter of Mr Macho man who thinks that the more one night stands he has the more of a man he is...the stronger he is. I am sure there are guys out there who think that because Jesus never had sex that he couldn't have been a real man. Really. What if you were Jesus and you were to live all 33 years growing up like any other boy headed into puberty with your hormones running crazy as was the case with Jesus Christ the strongest man that ever lived. You have to remember he "was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin" Hebrews 4:15 I think many people view this God I love and serve as being this "pammy whammy", ethereal ,angelic spirit being that was aloof to the attractions of the opposite sex. Remember Jesus was a carpenters son. He knew what it meant to be tired and thirsty. Yes, lo and behold, he even slept! Tell me, did it ever cross your mind  how hard it must have been  for him to be alone at night? How he won the hearts of ladies every where he went because of his  kindness not only to  them but to every one he came in contact with..especially the children? Jesus was a real man with like passions as any man the exception being he was absolutely perfect! Excuse me Mr Macho man, when was the last time you fasted 40 days and 40 nights? You couldn't go a day without your protein shake and trip to the gym! LOL! Jesus walked around with an apostle Paul's mind set: "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection" 1Corinthians 9:27 Jesus was the strongest man in the world because he mastered his own body. He had a goal ...nothing and no one was going to stop him from his purpose. A weakling would not have been able to ward off all of the distractions that came his way they would not have the strength. Let me close with the scripture: "He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls" Proverbs 25:28

  • "That He Is"
    "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6 We try to make faith something hard. We think it is some "magical" formula that we have to put into practice for getting something from God. We hear lots of teaching about the "steps" of faith. Volumes of books have been written on the subject. Yet most don't know what it truly means to have faith or how to walk in it. The beginning point and whole essence of faith is to believe that God is. That He is- real, He does exist. To believe that He is- who He says He is. To believe that He is- the One who answers prayers and rewards the seeker. To believe that He is- the One who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think. To believe that He is- the One who cannot fail. To believe that He is- the One who loves us, desires to answer us, cares about us, is with us, meets and supplies our every need, who will not turn us away, who has all power and is well able to do what He says He will do and that nothing is impossible for Him. If you are having a hard time believing that God is who He is, then you will be hindered in your faith. When I go to the doctor, I believe that doctor is who he is and that means he is qualified to give me what I need to take care of the sickness in my body. When I go to the banker with a financial need, I believe that banker is who he is and that he is qualified to help me with that need. When I am looking for property to buy, I go to the real estate agents. When I need insurance, I call an insurance agent. When I need help with my plumbing, I call a plumber. I call the people who are who they say they are because I believe that they are qualified to help me in those areas. My faith calls upon God because I believe that He is who He says He is, therefore I know He is qualified to help me with the need. Do you believe that He is who He says He is? Do you believe that He is qualified to meet the need? Do you believe that there is nothing too difficult or impossible for Him? That is faith-- faith that pleases Him. Have a great day.   • Why not "Sweep Sin under the Rug"?
            
             One who claims to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior cannot be busy About the Masters Business and regard iniquity in their hearts at the same time....and to regard iniquity in our hearts ( Psalm 66: 18)  is to "sweep sin under the rug" ( my paraphrase)   We can go through all the religious exercises of living out a Christian lifestyle but remember, our God is a person and He wants a relationship. From this same passage of  scripture we learn that the Lord will not hear me. That intimate relationship whereby  we "draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you" ( James 4;8) is instantly forfeited. We can pray until we are "blue in the face" but the Lord will not hear us until we take the rug off and expose that sin. " If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
              Have you ever heard the expression "this book will keep you from sin and sin will keep you from this book"? Well, I know from my personal walk with God, that if I "turneth away my ear from hearing the law, even my prayer shall be abomination" Proverbs 28:9  You see, if sin is swept-ed  under the rug and left unchecked it will eventually  pile up so that bible study and prayer will be next to nothing. We can learn from David what happens when sin is swept-ed under the rug.

     If he was in fellowship prior to succumbing to the sin of adultery with Bathsheba then he apparently did not have the whole armor of God on.  Anyway, many times when sin is swept-ed under the rug then one sin will lead to another.  You can read the account of what David did in order to remove Uriah , Bathsheba's husband, out of the picture... 2 Samuel 11: 14-17
     And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
     And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
     And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.
    And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also. Do you see the damaging effects of unconfessed sin? Instead of "fessing up to his sin he covered it! David is living proof that the pleasures of sin are but for a season.  Hebrews 11:25    How about the sin of Ananias and Sapphira? Prior to what they had done, there was great unity among believers resulting in the selling of their possessions. Money was laid at the apostles feet ."But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet." Acts 5: 1,2 Instead of repenting instantly they thought they could cover their sin and get away with it......"be sure your sin will find you out" Numbers 32:23 Instead of making some money..at the expense of character, integrity,  personal holiness and  more importantly, their intimate relationship and fellowship with God Himself...they "fell down, and gave the ghost! They were instantly struck down by a Holy God that hates  sin!!! So you can see why we should not sweep sin under the rug!

  • Why are you so dead set against Christ?
          Why are you so dead set against Christ? Is it because a so called professing Christian burned you? Perhaps a close friend or relative died unexpectedly leaving you with the wind knocked out of you. Maybe it's you.....walking moment by moment..fighting the world, the flesh, and the devil.....day in and day out has become a bit too much and you are thinking about giving up the fight.  "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12
          In these final days before the trumpet sounds,  "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God." 1 Thessalonians 4:16, there is an obvious all out  attack at the very core of the Judeo-Christian ethic. It seems the whole world is going at break neck speed to do  away with anything that has to do with morals,values, and scruples. Anything in the name of pleasure and at all costs is what 21st century humans want. Away with absolutes, purity, vows, convictions, integrity, chivalry, manners, kindness, etc. etc.  Because of this escalating problem pervading the hearts and minds of even Christians, many are jumping on the band wagon and are pushing the love of Christ into the background or totally out of their personal lives. I can almost hear the crowd say: " Away with this man" Luke 23:18 
            "Get with the times you dead beat followers of Christ. You guys are just pathetic..religion is for your grandparents...you don't know how to have a good time..look at your lives, all you do is go to church like robots, read your bibles and tell us what we are doing is wrong while we are having the time of our lives..you can have your life ..I'll take mine" Sound familiar? Little do these type of individuals know that our God "gives us richly all things to enjoy" ! Timothy 6:17 Their problem is that they equate enjoyment with the pleasures of sin which, by the way, are but for a season Hebrews 11:25
           You and I would be weirdo's if we didn't like a good time which brings laughter and happiness.  The reason many are so dead set against Christ is because they mistakenly believe that  to be a committed Christian is to be living a life with a rigid set of rules filled with do's and don't's. Nothing could be further from the truth! Sad to say those fulfilling the lusts of the flesh are in bondage and many know it and some are oblivious to the chains that shackle them. I don't know about you but since I studied scripture and learned just how much my God loves me, I have been set free! "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free".John 8:32

           So I ask are you dead set against Christ? Have you been sucked in the tide of Christ haters? Are you going to go with the flow? To be in love with Christ is what you really need . To know Him is to love Him! Amen! All right maybe I did not touch upon why you are through with this Christ who" commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8. May I ask that you share your reason?
