First i use blogger to post my article i just wonder : hey... i'm internationalize..! Until then i tried to monetize it. After that i found myself disappointed. Why? Because the robot block my blog as spam. Hik.. hik... I send for recovery for me to repair the link or article (maybe removal needed). They said someone will see my request and make recovery. Unfortunately... i don't have even a single answer from the staff, until now.

From that day i never use blogger for my business. I mean... it' risky for my biz, my time, and my energy to waste.

I couldn't agree more with you, Blogger is a complete waste of time and effort. They will shut your site down with no explanation and there is nothing you can do about it. The only way to go is with a self-hosted Wordpress site. You own it and the Google Nazis can't tell you how to run it or shut it down. Besides when it comes to flexibility, Wordpress can't be beat. With all the plugins available for Wordpress it's hard to think of anything that can't be done with it.

I definitely agree with you Russel. There are a lot of sites for us, internet marketer/publisher, as our buddy to setup our need in publishing and monetizing. Wordpress is the one of them. It's strong enough as our tool to inject our script and it is just "work for me".

@Russell Renkes (rrenkes) I do agree. Self-hosted WP blog is still the best for customization, if you are not a programmer. For people who are new to blogging or do not want to pay for hosting, our Free Budypress account may just be a good place to start.

WordPress is as easy as blogger to admin. There is not any more programing knowledge needed than is needed for Blogger. People get afraid because they have to deal with hosting their website. This can be very simple too, with the right hosting company. First you want a hosting company that has an application installer included in the control panel. This will will take the guess-work out of the WordPress installation. Second, you want great tech support that you can access in a variety of ways; ticketing system, phone and email. A host that has a good knowledge-base and F.A.Q. section is helpful as well. I currently admin 3 Wordpress blogs (more at other times). When I did my first, I had no programing knowledge and I just happened to choose a host that made it easy to get up and running and made it possible to continue to learn....

I've heard a lot about BuddyPress but never used it yet. Is it worth testing out? I have WP on a few of my own self-hosted domains; and wouldn't mind testing it out "if" it's worth my time
