I agree with Mike. I get much better results when I post informative content on my blogs that when I post a sales pitch. I try to mostly post content with embedded links, with the occasional rant-type post about something I feel strongly about mixed in.

Louise try to avoid posting rants the best blogs always study both sides of the coin and look at a subject objectively, posting this way can also save you the embarrassment of being proved 100% wrong and ensures your readers won't desert you.

@ Warren, Dave, Mike, & Louise... Informative posts always do better for me, as well.

About Kajabi... It is simple to use, but unless you are doing multiple high-end product launches each year, I don't see it as something that is worth the asking price. Maybe it will take me a couple of hours extra to set up a launch site with Wordpress, but I'll stay with what I know instead of investing into and overpriced system.

The flexibility of Wordpress is why I use it on every new website that I build... Whether it is a traditional blog, membership site, or a product site.

I agree with Steve.

Blogging allows you to offer solid content, which in turn, allows you to position yourself as an expert. Show that you are knowledgable, and provide consistently good content and you will have followers sooner than you think.

It is also an expression of who you are. People who feel they know you will trust you, especially if you provide good content. Videos are great with this, as people can connect and relate with you on an emotional level - which is very important.

Blogging also allows you to give away free reports which just adds to your own credibility. Did you know that you can publish your Blogger blog into an e-book? Thought that was interesting.

Blogging for me is fun! I love it and enjoy the new people that I meet as a result. There are a lot of good people out there, why not get to know them?

I wish you well in all your blogging endevours!

Melissa

How have I missed this thread? I'll have to come back here again when I have a few minutes to catch up.

I blog for many of the reasons noted by other members here, but largely as a way to share my products, services, programs and ideas.

One other reason I blog is for the practice and experience of writing. Writing is a vital means of communication, particularly online, and it is a skill worth developing.

GT :-)

I blog as a means to share information. You won't even find mention of my primary business on there. I offer daily tips and occasionally refer to a solid free network marketing training system.

I use blogs mainly for adsense. You can have so many WP blogs! The number only depends on your webhost... Even after Panda, and smart pricing, I still make a decent income from blogging with auto content!

I have so many out there now, that I don't visit them anymore, my software just keeps adding content, and for some reason, I keep getting clicks.

Another reason to use WP, is that Google loves WP blogs. Even the WP hosted blogs, which are not nearly as flexible as self hosted blogs get organic traffic. Blogging is almost a hands off proposition for people who don't have the time to write unique content every day, all day.

For the serious marketer who makes a full time living from blogs, the WP platform should absolutely be a part of your business! The amount of marketing you can do with a WP blog is limitless. The one caveat is you must come up with unique content regularly. Every time I think they've hit a limit, someone comes up with an amazing new plugin or widget that changes the whole game.

I also get some decent affiliate income from my blogs. I'm not getting rich with them, but once again, it's hands OFF! With WP, it is a simple matter to add the code for banners, text links, and even videos. Watch my faceplate for info on a new blogging program. This absolutely will change the way people blog. It will open the door for people with NO internet experience at all, and it will be released in a few days!! Many have already heard about it, some already use the original version, but it will impress even very experienced bloggers!
